The commercial registry is the most important step that an investor takes when starting to implement a
commercial project, but this is done after the conditions for opening a commercial registry in the Sultanate of
Oman are met, which stipulate the following:
The trader wishing to obtain a commercial registration must hold Omani nationality, and if he is less than that, he
must hold a valid residency, and the state allows the matter for owners of American nationalities and Arab Gulf
countries, through the website.
When a person submits a commercial registration application, his age must not be less than 18 years old. Those
who apply electronically must sign their application to be presented to the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Oman.
It is necessary to enter correct and not incorrect data and information, in order to avoid errors or the imposition of
penalties and fines. In the event that the registration is requested electronically using a personal identification card,
it can only include five investors, no more.
A financial file should be submitted on an annual basis within six months from the date of the registration process.
The investor must specify a name for his company, provided that the name is not circulated to another party, and
this is done by visiting the services library.
The investor\u2019s choice of a commercial activity suitable for him and his work, and the Authority has listed about 205
activities that all of them need to open a commercial register, submit a lease or ownership contract for the
registered activity\u2019s location, indicating the address and location data, all investors adhere to the stipulated controls
and conditions, and are interested in reviewing them in case they pass through any matter emergency.
Availability of a valid bank account in which the value of the project\u2019s capital is deposited. Each investor is obligated
to pay the registration application fee for his project or company, as determined by the Commission after reviewing
